Meeting called to order at 1:03PM:
  • Housing Grant Opportunity Discussion:
  • Christine Flynn reviewed the opportunities that are possible and the Technical Assistance Grant.
  • Ms. Flynn worked with the Town of Tisbury in the scope of work for the consultants.
  • She noted that the Technical Assistance Grant is not boilerplate and can be adapted to a scope of work that is particular to the Town.
  • Ms. Flynn noted the grant has not rolled out yet and she will alert the Town when it has. She noted that the window for action is approximately 6-8 weeks.
  • Ms. Flynn described approximately a year long process once grant money is funded to have a development options available from the consultant.
  • Mr. Cook inquired about the payments to the consultant and wondered if it would be possible to see an example from Tisbury and Oak Bluffs showing the payments to the consultants. Ms. Flynn stated she would look into this and send the Board members the grant applications and the scope of work from Tisbury and Oak Bluffs in order for them to get a better idea of the project and the costs.
  • Peaked Hill Pasture Site Discussion:
  • Ms. Weidner distributed her revision of the draft created by Ms. Thompson of the Draft Background and Considerations for Peaked Hill Pasture and Land by Tabor House Road Landfill: A PROGRESS REPORT. Ms. Weidner stated that the chart of Chilmark Housing Options, created by Ms. Wallace, is also included in her revision of the Draft Background and Considerations.
  • The members discussed the Report and whether it should include reference to the 8 acre lot on the northeast side of Tabor House Road (behind the former landfill) which will not be used for affordable housing.
  • The subcommittee members continued to review the draft.
