Chilmark Planning Board Subcommittee Meeting

Meeting called to order at 3:09PM:
- Menemsha Master Plan: Max King’s VTA Bus #12 Map DRAFT #3, Discussion:
- The subcommittee reviewed the third draft of Max King’s map. Their comments were:
- The subcommittee members had positive reviews for the third draft of the map.
- The subcommittee members decided to change the wording to MARKET rather than GENERAL STORE. And, Ms. King will make the word MARKET and SHOPS and PARKING LOT a lighter color
- It was noted that Max should add in the word DEPT. to POLICE.
- Ms. King noted that the wording and icon for COMMUNITY CENTER and the Town Hall should be larger and a different color.
- Ms. King will change the direction of the VTA bus in the town center.
- Ms. King noted that she will move MIDDLE RD down and make sure that TABOR HOUSE ROAD is spelled correctly.
- Ms. King inquired whether BASIN RD and NORTH RD should be added. She agreed to add those names to the inset map.
- It was noted the need to move the word DOCK northeast a bit.
- Ms. Malkin requested Ms. Christy provide the map to Tim Carroll to ascertain if the information on the map is correct.
- Ms. King will provide a final draft by Tuesday or Wednesday, June 13th, 14th.
- The final size will be 5 feet wide.
- Ms. Malkin would like a final draft available to send to the Board of Selectmen on Friday, June 16th, 2017.
- The draft large print-out was a little less than $100. The final version will be approximately $200 each.
- It was noted that the word VILLAGE should be taken out and it was noted that the color of MENEMSHA should be a lighter orange.
- Ms. Christy was asked to ascertain the size of the shed at the VTA park ‘n ride lot where the poster will be, the size of the Comfort Station wall.
- Discussion occurred about changing the font for Menemsha and Chilmark to a different one from the script. The subcommittee asked if Ms. King could explore a couple of different fonts. The font that was suggested is more like what is below (and is the similar font to that on the Please NO PARKING Town of Chilmark signs:
