APPROVED Meeting Minutes
Monday, June 24, 2013 @ 4:30 PM

The meeting was called to order by Catherine Thompson at 4:33 p.m.
Joint Meeting of the Conservation Commission (ConComm) & the Planning Board:
- Chair Thompson introduced the topic: Mr. Charles Parker and others have approached the Planning Board with a proposal for the Board to eliminate the section of the Zoning Bylaws, section 12.6 Squibnocket Pond Advisory Committee, General Regulations for the District, H. 1. The Board felt it should discuss this proposal with the Conservation Commission.
- Ms. Weidner summarized the discussion the Planning Board has had so far.
- Board members discussed the topic and Mr. Osnoss read an abstract of a document that contained information about glyphosate and its effects on the human body.
- After further discussion, Mr. Osnoss made a motion to take no action regarding the discussed section of the bylaw (12.6, H. 1) at this time. Ms. Weidner seconded the motion. Mr. Fischer suggested an amendment to the motion to indicate the Board is interested in taking some action at a time in the future. Mr. Flender and Mr. Greenbaum expressed support for the motion. Discussion ensued. The Board voted on the motion presented by Mr. Osnoss. All ayes. Mr. Fischer suggested a memo be sent that the Board is not taking a passive position but feels that greater knowledge is needed before action is taken. Further discussion ensued. Ms. Malkin suggested the minutes just reflect the decision not to take any action at this time.
- Chair Thompson thanked the Conservation Commission for their attendance and contributions to the discussion.
Planning Board Subcommittee Update:
- The Board and present subcommittee members discussed the Chilmark Master Plan.
- The Board agreed to direct the subcommittee to begin a Master Plan revision in the fall 2013.
Minutes:
- June 10, 2013 Minutes were reviewed and approved with changes.
Next Meeting: Planning Board, Monday, July 8, 2013, 4:30 PM
With no more business to discuss, Chair Thompson adjourned the meeting at 6:05 pm.
