Meeting Called to Order: 9:00AM
Review of the January 28, 2013 Joint Board Meeting:
- Members discussed the meeting of the joint boards on the previous night.
- Ms. Malkin identified the situation:
- Ms. Bunker, Asst. Assessor, calculates living area to arrive at an assessed value, while Mr. Jason, Building Inspector calculates to determine size. Ms. Malkin further stated the Asst. Assessor uses square footage as a proxy for value, whereas the Planning Board is proposing to use the Gross Living Area (GLA) calculation as a proxy for bulk.
- Members agreed to recommend the phrase ‘Total Living Area’ instead of ‘Gross Living Area”. Chair Weidner requested Ms. Christy to make changes in the bylaw draft for review by the Planning Board on February 11, 2013.
- Members also agreed to create a brief definition of ‘Total Living Area’ and confirmed the applicant would begin the permitting process with the Building Inspector.
