Present for the Park & Recreation Committee and attending the meeting were: Andy Goldman, Chairman, Jane Slater, Julie Flanders, Jim Malkin, Warren Doty and Chuck Hodgkinson. Tim Carroll did not attend.
The meeting came to order at 8:00 AM.
Lot 3A availability update: The Committee agreed with the schedule and process for awarding Bulkhead Lot 3A to a new tenant. The applications are due November 29 @ 4:00 PM. The Committee also agreed to schedule a special meeting for Monday, December 10 @ 8:00 am to interview the prospective candidates and review the 2019 lease renewal applications from current tenants.
The Committee also discussed that this might be a good time to re-evaluate the need and cost for bringing the electrical wiring in the Lot 3A shack up to code. Chuck H. will have the cost estimate from March 2017 updated (if necessary) for review at the December 10 meeting.
Lobster and conch pots: The committee discussed resident comments received regarding the lobster pot storage on Basin Road. It was agreed to have additional conversations with the respective tenants to reach an amenable solution. It is understood that some pots may need to be temporarily stored on the lots as they are fished and rotated.
Wooden bulkhead off the parking lot on Menemsha Beach: Ms. Slater mentioned the beach committee asked her if replacing the cap on the wooden bulkhead is within the Park & Recreation Committee’s jurisdiction. Apparently the current weathered boards are making it rather difficult to sit comfortably while watching the sun set -- without taking home wooden souvenirs of the experience. The Committee agreed to discuss this further and to consider what type of replacement wooden boards should be used.

The October 11, 2018 meeting minutes were reviewed and approved as presented by consensus.
With no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 8:40 AM.
The next meeting will be Monday, December 10, 2018 @ 8:00 AM.
