CHILMARK LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING
March 22, 2011
Present: Trustees Norman Freed, Jane Slater and Janet Weidner; Library Director Ebba Hierta.
Meeting called to order at 9:13 AM. Minutes of the December 2010 meeting approved as submitted.
Building and Grounds Report: The latest information on the well, which the Library shares with the Community Center, is that the Library has its own (separate) connection into the well. So there is less fear that the Library’s plumbing will be contaminated with the bacteria that has been found during testing at the Community Center. Filters are being added to the Community Center “side” of the plumbing to see if that will solve the problem.
Program Report: We are beginning to book programs for the coming summer season.
New Business: The Chilmark Library’s Five Year Plan is about to expire. We will shortly be forming a planning committee which will consist of our Library Director, a staff member, a trustee and other town residents. The committee will hold a public forum and develop a list of objectives for the coming five years.
The State Aid grant payment has arrived. It appears that we will be getting the full amount that we were promised early in the Fiscal Year.
