Meeting called to order at 9:00 am
Peaked Hill update
The Peaked Hill Pastures Proposals Committee has met e/o Wednesday since July to discuss all possible uses of the town owned land on Pasture Hill Rd. A sub-committee including Ann Wallace, Peter Cook & Clark Goff has formed to discuss land uses specific to housing needs. This sub-committee finds workforce housing is most immediately needed. The sub-committee advised to not fully develop the available land all in one go but rather develop in stages, leaving some undeveloped land for future planning.
The Peaked Hill committee is considering a public hearing at the November 19, 2018 STM to gather public input.
Beetlebung Farm
The neighboring 5.7 acre Beetlebung farm may soon be on the market. The committee discussed the site as a potential location for Elderly housing and that the Town should consider purchasing the parcel. The CHC plans to send a memo to the BoS requesting a discussion of this land acquisition at their next meeting 9/18/18.
Rental Assistance Program update
Rental assistance rates were adjusted in May 2018 and to-date one of the current 4 landlords have taken advantage of the rent increase at their renewal period.
Re-appropriation of $100,000 CPC Housing funding for the Rental Assistance Program will go to vote at STM on 11/19/18.
Minutes from 6/21/18 and 8/9/18 were approved as written.
Members discussed the initiative of West Tisbury Affordable Housing Committee who appropriates CPC Housing reserves to their Housing Trust on a regular annual basis for the purpose of “future housing planning”.
