Committee Members Present: Ann Wallace, Bill Rossi, Jessica Roddy, William Randol, Jim Feiner, Michelle Leonardi.
Others Present: Peter Cook (Planning Board), Jessie Holtham (admin)
Committee Members Absent: Roland Kluver, Andy Goldman
A quorum of the Housing Committee was met at 9:05 a.m. at the Chilmark Town Hall. The meeting then moved to Map47/Lot2 Peaked Hill Town-owned parcel.
One of Three existing wells was identified.
Discussed the existing boat storage and plans to contact the CCC for removal.
Discussed the number of potential lots and units that the land could support. Discussion to continue at next CHC meeting.
Discussed costs associated with rental development. Jim Feiner will contact rental unit developers for more information.
Discussed the Molly Flender Municipal Housing Trust and its next meeting (Fall 2017) when financial information from previous housing projects (infrastructure, construction costs, DCRHA administrative support) will be organized. Funds currently in the trust will be important for future development the site.
Discussed land survey as next step in the process and the required steps for putting survey out to bid.
Peter Cook presented ideas for a main housing unit close to the access road which could potentially house an admin/staff to oversee the units and grounds.
Discussed increase in community communication once “How YOU Can Help With Affordable Housing” advertisement is released.
Discussed the community’s housing vision and possible survey/questionnaire.
