Todd Christy chaired the meeting.
Minutes of December 4, 2012 – postponed.
Refinancing Request: Dardenella Slavin presented a request that the committee recommend to the Selectmen approval for her family’s refinancing proposal. After discussion, a motion was made by Bill Randol, seconded by Michelle Leonardi, and voted unanimously to recommend to the Selectmen.
Housing Needs Assessment Study Committee Update: Ann Wallace updated the committee on the progress of the Report. Two public forums will be held on February 12th and 20th where the consultant Karen Sunnarborg will provide an overview of the report with time for input, questions and discussion.
Housing Needs Assessment Interim Report: Christine Flynn provided an overview of the interim report and highlighted some analysis of the data. The two final sections that are being developed are 1) analysis of existing housing organizations, their capacity and a cost-benefit analysis of different programs and 2) recommendations. She urged all to attend the public forums.
Municipal Housing Trusts: Christine Flynn provided an update on the different compositions of MHT in the different towns as well as the need for a Trust Declaration, filed with the Registry of Deeds. She will be sending information to each town for next steps and will provide Todd Christy with the presentation document from last year’s workshop. It was noted that the Trust can do fundraising and Christine is awaiting a determination whether a gift – money or land - to a municipal trust can be considered tax deductible for the donor.
Middle Line Road maintenance: It was noted that a letter has been sent to all members of Middle Line with a review of conditions of the agreement with the town. It was again suggested that the Association develop ways to deal with different issues or questions that might arise.
