        Todd Christy, Administrative Assistant
Not Present: Tim Lasker, Andy Goldman

Call To Order:
Jim Feiner, Housing Committee Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:30pm.

        New Business:
Christine Flynn from the Martha’s Vineyard Commission had asked to join the Housing Committee to discuss the update for the 2010 Community Development Strategy. She began with the history of this document and how in 2009 at the bequest of the Selectmen, this document was drafted to help Chilmark gain eligibility for housing rehab grant money for income qualified households. These grants are administered by The Resource Inc out of Edgartown and the grants are written with the help of Bailey, Boyd and Associates. TRI works with DCAM certified contractors to provide the rehab work. Ms. Muldaur asked if Tea Lane Farm would be a possibility for this type of grant money and could the town apply if the house was used for affordable housing?
The document outlines the projects that are currently in Chilmark including: rental assistance program; Middle line Road Rental Housing and Homesite Lots; the encouragement of affordable lots through zoning; continuing to pursue future options for town affordable housing programs. Mr. Feiner thanked Christine for her work on this project and for coming to speak with the committee.

MLR Rental Status:
The Rental Duplexes will begin construction shortly. Lot clearing begins in three weeks.

MLR Homesite Status:
Mr. Christy gave the committee members the status of Homesite recipients:
Matt Bradley has a special permit
        Jennifer Slossberg has not started
Jeff and Emily Day have a decked foundation
Cameron parry has a decked foundation
        Leonardi’s have a house.

Summer Residents Meeting:
Mr. Feiner expressed his dissatisfaction about the timing of the summer residents meeting with the selectmen. It was very short notice and allowed no notice to either town boards or to residents. The committee agreed to draft Wally Epstein a letter asking for better notification to both residents and boards in the future. It’s a great opportunity to have information pass both directions. Mr. Christy also voiced concern over the 5 hour notice after asking for weeks when this meeting was to take place. In all, 8 town residents showed up.

With no other new business to discuss, Mr. Feiner closed the meeting at 5:35 pm.
Minutes respectfully submitted by Todd Christy, Administrative Assistant.
