Minutes
October 2, 2006
Present: Steve Schwab, Andy Goldman, Bill Randol, and Jim Feiner and Lisa Specht, administrative assistant
The Meeting was called to order at 4:40 pm.
The Minutes for September 18, 2006 were approved as written.
Change of meeting day - It was decided that the Board would continue to meet on the first and third Monday of the month at 4:30 pm.
Special Housing Committee Meeting - The Board decided to devote the next scheduled meeting entirely to the Implementation Guidelines.
Rental Assistance Program - There was discussion of the rental assistance program and how it is set up. CHC is financially able to take on two more rental candidates.
It was suggested that a memo or e-mail be sent to David Vineault, Director of the Dukes County Regional Housing Authority, asking his advice on how to certify more rentals and how to expand the rental assistance program. It was also suggested to ask David if the Housing Authority would consider generating an annual recertification letter for each qualified candidate
Implementation Guidelines - The latest versions of the Guidelines were reviewed and a few changes and corrections were made.
Middle Line Project - Andy Goldman strongly urged the Housing Committee members to back the idea of constructing the buildings all at once, not in stages. The members that were present agreed.
There was no further business, so the meeting was adjourned at 5:40.
