Housing Committee Minutes
November 2, 2005

Town Hall
Present: Steve Schwab, Chair, Jim Feiner, Zelda Gamson, Josh Scott, Bill Randol, and Deborah Cini, Administrative Assistant.
Call to Order:
Mr. Schwab opened the meeting at 7:30p.m.
Minutes:
Minutes of October 19, 2005 were approved as written.
Homeport:
Mr. Randol updated the Committee on the Homeport public hearing that occurred on October 25, 2005. Concerns raised at the meeting were the increased tax burden, the utilization of the property, and what would be come of the property if the town chose not to purchase. The property is not one parcel but several that could be severed and put to use by the Town. Mr. Goldman attended the meeting and reported to Ms. Cini via email. Mr. Goldman stated that his comments to make sure that funds from the CPA, earmarked for Middle Line Plan, be used for that purpose were received without comment.
Guidelines:
The Committee chose to review the new Homesite Housing Application and address it at the next meeting. The amended Implementation Guidelines were reviewed and changes were recommended. Ms. Cini will amend the document for the Committee to review and readdress at its next meeting.
Deed Rider Comparisons:
Ms. Cini explained the comparison chart that delineated deed restriction summaries of West Tisbury, Tisbury, and Chilmark along with the Island Housing Trust. The Committee will review the chart and provide comment at the next meeting.
Middle Line Road Subcommittee:
Mr. Schwab stated that the subcommittee was reviewing the draft RFP.
Advertisement for Members:
The Planning Board and Board of Selectmen advertised for appointees to the Chilmark Housing Committee in the Gazette. So far there have been no prospective appointees.
