Present for the Historical Commission and attending the meeting were: Lenny Jason, Jim Malkin, John Flender, Barbara Armstrong and Chuck Hodgkinson. Steve McGhee and Jane Slater did not attend.
The Commission appointed Mr. Flender as acting Chairman. He opened the meeting at 4:13 PM.
Stone wall restoration application: Warren Kantrowitz; South Road @ Wooten Bassett Rd.; Approx. 160 feet. Chuck H. said that as requested letters of consent have been received from the property owners for this proposed restoration. He also said two quotes have been obtained—one for $2,500 and one for $2,800. The Commission discussed its desire to focus the future stone wall restorations along Middle Road – as South Road has received the majority of the work. The Commission unanimously agreed to decline Mr. Kantrowitz’s request because of its desire to concentrate restorations on Middle Road—as done with the most recent stone wall restoration and plaque commemorating the location of the original Town Hall.
Administration: The September 14, 2017 meeting minutes were reviewed and approved as presented by consensus.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 @ 4:00 PM.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 4:45 PM.
