New Business:
  • Adam Moore of the Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation was present to request a letter in support for grant filing. It would provide Sheriff’s Meadow with some money to assess what the next steps are in rehabilitation and renovation for the Mayhew/Mitchell House located on Quansoo.
  • Mr. Moore updated the committee as to the current status of the structure. It has been thoroughly cleaned, including the animal residue. During the cleaning process some interesting artifacts have been found and set aside. Mr. Moore states the house is now presentable. The Grant money would come from The National Trust for Historic Preservation and would be from $500.00 to $5000.00 total. This would assist in creating a site plan and strategy for further development. The Commission voted unanimously to approve the writing of a letter in support of Sheriff’s Meadow. Mr. Moore has a drafted letter that he will send Todd.
  • Dan Greenbaum came before the Commission to describe the details of his proposed walkways within the town campus and roadways. Mr. Greenbaum had a lot of information and flow charts that took into account the way people move about town within the various buildings. He stated the purpose of this was to create safer trail system in town and to provide the town more parking by including the Town Hall parking area in the map of trail ways. The Commission had discussion concerning the break in one of the stone walls, but was happy with the proposed design.
