  • Mass. Memories Roadshow Endorsement Letter:
The six island libraries of the Martha’s Vineyard Library Association are seeking grant funding to bring the Mass. Memories Road Show to the island next year. In support of our grant application, each library is seeking an endorsement from relevant community boards and organizations. Could you please bring this up to the Chilmark Historical Commission at their next meeting? What we seek is a letter from the Commission indicating their support for the project, their thoughts about the importance of preserving local personal historic records for future generations, etc.

The Mass. Memories Roadshow is a statewide project of the University of Massachusetts. The Roadshow will bring a team of volunteers and equipment to a community to digitize historic records, photos, documents, etc. of the individual residents, ultimately producing a digital record of these community memories that will be available to all through the Mass Memories website. I’ve printed out a copy of the MMR brochure for your information and will drop it off at town hall. Here is a link to the Mass Memories Roadshow website. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Next Meeting:  Tuesday, June 17 @ 5:30 PM.
