Minutes of August 13, 2014 were approved
Norton, 12 Mayhew Lane (27.1-194) A previously approved replacement well on this property has not yielded water. It seems that the place where water is to be found in the area is in the right-of-way, where a number of abutting wells as well as the old well are located. The Board approved drilling a well in the ROW, on the condition that an as-built plan is produced showing the location of the well.
Morelli, 30 Shadbush Hollow (11-3,4,5) Chris Alley discussed a proposed Sewage Disposal System which will require a variance to property line due to difficult soils on the property. The Board determined that a public hearing will be needed, and set the hearing date for October 1, 2014 at 5:30pm.
Cook, 12 Heath Hen Way (18-47.2) The Board approved a septic plan revision which requires no variances. The revision changes the well location. The Board noted that a well construction permit has not yet been filed, and that the septic construction permit will not be released until the well completion report is received by the Board of Health office.
Public Hearing: 5:30pm
Wolf/Kegan, 127 State Road (33-15) George Sourati presented a septic system upgrade permit application which requires the following variances to Chilmark Board of Health Regulations: to reduce septic-to-septic separation from the neighboring leaching system from 300’ (Coastal District separation) to 74’. Marina Lent confirmed that no one has contacted the Board of Health office with regards to the public hearing notice. The existing system passed inspection at sale. The system is permitted for four bedrooms, and the family proposes finishing a room in the basement to create a family room and bathroom. The room will not qualify as a bedroom as it serves as the pass-through to the garage and therefore does not provide for privacy. The Board approved the permit
application.
Dental and Flu Clinics: Marina Lent reported that a Dental Clinic for income-qualified persons over 20 years old will be held at the Howes House in West Tisbury on September 19th, 2014, and the All-Island Flu Clinic will take place on October 4, 2014 at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
Sollitto, 14 Tabor Hills (19-16.3) Title 5 Official Inspection Form received –passes
Invoices: The following invoices were approved for payment:
- MVRD SEMASS-MSW Transportation & Recycling $3,685.05
- CCC PWS#4062006 Manganese sample bottle shipment reimburse Marina Lent $30 (2x$15)
- Menemsha Porta-Pottie rental fee $150
