Minutes of August 13, 2014 approved as submitted.
Leopold, 11 South Ridge Road (18-37) George Sourati came before the Board to request an out of season perc at the property. The Board approved doing a perc test, noting, however, that the proposed project does not constitute an emergency, and that if soils prove to be complex and potentially challenging, the out-of-season perc will be aborted in favor of doing a perc test during high water table conditions.
Morris, 113 Hammett Road (4-6) George Sourati came before the Board to request an out of season perc at the property. Kegan/Wolf, 127 State Road (33-15) George Sourati came to the Board for a septic system upgrade discussion . The proposal will require a public hearing, which is scheduled for September 17th at 5:30pm.

Huberman, 21 Harbor Hill Road (27.1-111 &113) The Board reviewed a septic system upgrade proposal for a failed cesspool. The system, which is located on a small lot, requires variances from Chilmark Board of Health regulations as follows: septic tank separation from property line from 10’ to 3’; leach bed separation from Property Line from 30’ to 3’; leach bed separation from 150’ to 120’. The Board approved the proposed plan, which represents an improvement over the existing system.
Kelly, 28 Black Point Road (17-27) The Board approved septic system revisions to accommodate a detached bedroom prepared by Doug Cooper.
Norton, 12 Mayhew Lane (27.1-194) The Board approved a replacement well permit application for a new well on the property. The well will require a variance to property line.
Wallach, 23 Redwing (25-110) well permit application
Yaffee, 55 Tabor House Road (13-28) The Board approved a well permit application prepared by John Clarke.
Nab’s Site #2 (11-46.2) The Board approved a well permit application to replace well permit 09-26
Nab’s Site #3 (11-45.2) The Board approved a well permit application to replace well permit 09-27
Nab’s Site #4 (11-46.1) The Board approved a well permit application to replace well permit 09-28, stipulating that the applicant will have to provide an updated plan showing a well location changed to avoid heavy boulders in the location shown on the plan.
Nab’s Site #6 (11-45.1) The Board approved a well permit application to replace well permit 09-29
Psarakis/Furano, 3 Catherine’s Way (30-49) The Board noted receipt of a Title 5 Official Inspection Report. The system fails inspection, and the Board instructed Marina Lent to write a letter to the owner requiring an upgrade of the system within 90 days.
Zoia, 18 Point Inner Way (33-114) The Board noted a FAST Wastewater Treatment Field Inspection and Service Report, 5/15/2014 service date.
Conroy, 22 Greenhouse Lane (33-33) septic system pumpout report per DEP requirements
Beetlebung Corner Fire Station Marina Lent and Katie Carroll reported on a site visit and water test. The water test showed that the water is not contaminated with coliform bacteria—however, taste and oder problems persist, and the Fire Station is using bottled water for consumption. There are no health concerns with using the well water for washing.
Jones/Snider, 26 Abel’s Neck Road (31-2) FAST Wastewater Treatment Field Inspection and Service Report, 6/5/2014 service date.
