Public Health Nursing Contract
A hearing was opened at 6:05 PM to open and evaluate the Public Health Nursing Services Bids received for fiscal year 2006, beginning July 1, 2005. The Board of Health received only one bid from Martha=s Vineyard Community Services.
Four changes to the original format were made in this proposal, they are as follows;
Adult Health Promotion Visits was reduced from 100 visits to 60 visits at $50 per visit to equal $3,000.
A Town Registered Nurse Clinic was added to this bid to compensate for the reduction in AAdult Health Promotion Visits.@ Community Services Visiting Nurses is proposing that a town nurse visit the town office approximately 1 2 hours per month, maybe from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, to meet with patients at 15 minute intervals. They expect the preparation time for each clinic to be approximately 2 hour. This equals two (2) hours per month per clinic, a total of 24 hours. The proposed clinic for 24 hours per year, at $50 per hour, equals $1,200.
Health Education increased from 9 hours per year to 15 hours per year at $50 per hour to equal $750.
Hepatitis B Vacine/PPD was reduced from 3 RN hours per year to 2 RN hours per year at $50 per hour to equal $100.
Tuberculosis Program B This line item was eliminated.
Dental Education and Outreach Program added at 4 hours per year, $50 per hour to equal $200.
The total contract amount for fiscal year 2006 is $8,375.
Protick B tick remover kits. The Board approved the purchase of 500 protick packages at $1.63 each, to equal $815.
Sexual Dysfunction Presentations B The Board approved sharing the cost of two presentations, one is AIntimacy After Prostate Cancer,@ the second is ALiving and Loving with Parkinson=s Disease.@ The cost to Chilmark is $220.
