(DRAFT) MINUTES HARBOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2019
Members present: S. Broderick, A. Goldman, W. Iacono, J. Maida, S. McDowell, E. Poole
Others present: Jessie Burton (applicant), James Malkin (Liaison to Selectmen), Ryan Rossi (Harbormaster), Jonathan Klaren (Chief of Police)
The meeting convened at 0800.
Mr. Malkin discussed reasons for the Board of Selectmen to refer this matter to the Harbor Advisory Committee. Considerable discussion followed with regard as to how the proposal does, or does not, fit within the framework of the Chilmark Master Plan. Several motions were made. Each failed to get a “second.” More lengthy discussion followed, with input from Mr. Burton, Mr. Malkin, Harbormaster Rossi and every member of the committee.
Mr. Broderick and Mr. McDowell abstained from all votes until the final vote, which was unanimous: to return the matter to the Board of Selectmen with no recommendation.
Other business: Mr. Malkin and Harbormaster Rossi advised the HAC members that they were working on proposals to update the Waterways regulations.
The meeting was dissolved at 0858. No date was set for the next meeting.
