  • Meeting Minutes:  Review January 21, 2015 meeting minutes.
  • Up-Island Regional School District Request for Funds:  See letter dated 2/17/15 from Susan Stevens, Chilmark School Principal.  
The Up-Island School District; Heather Quinn, the Director of the Chilmark Pre-School and the Chilmark Community Center Summer Program are seeking $75,000 of CPA Park & Recreation funds to add 6-7 climbing structures to the existing playground for children aged 2-12.

  • Review CPA Warrant Articles for the April 27 Annual Town Meeting:
Article # :  To see if the Town will vote to approve the following request of the Community Preservation Committee:  To see if the Town will vote to reserve from the Community Preservation Fund FY 2016 estimated annual revenues up to the following amounts for community preservation projects:  $32,287.00 for Open Space Preservation Reserve; $32,287.00 for Historic Resources Reserve; $32,287.00 for Affordable Housing Reserve; and $226,007.00 for the Community Preservation Budgeted Reserve.

Article # :  To see if the Town will vote to approve the following request of the Community Preservation Committee:  To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from the Community Preservation Historic Resources Reserve Fund the sum of $3,500.00 to restore the remaining slate gravestones from the late 1700’s and the 1800’s in Abel’s Hill Cemetery.  

Discussion
The Chilmark Historical Commission will oversee the administration of this appropriation.  

Article # :  To see if the Town will vote to approve the following request of the Community Preservation Committee:  To see if the Town will vote to appropriate from the Community Preservation Open Space/Parks & Recreation Reserve Fund the sum of $33,390.00 as Chilmark’s share of the estimated $300,000 fund raising goal to re-build the MV Regional High School running track.  

Discussion

CPA fund requests have been submitted to all six Towns to help raise the $300,000.  The $300,000 goal is projected to be 50 percent of the total $650,000 estimated cost for the entire project.  Additional funds will be sought from the High School operating budget and private fund raising.
