  • Appoint new Chairman.
  • 6:00 PM:  Open Public Hearing for 9 Community Preservation Act (CPA) Fund requests for the April 2014 Annual Town Meeting:
Historic Preservation Fund Requests

  • Chilmark Cemetery Commission:  Seeking $3,500 to restore 35 ancient gravestones in Abel’s Hill Cemetery.  
  • Adam Moore, Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation:  Seeking $100,000 to help fund the        $1.1 million restoration of the historic Mayhew-Hancock-Mitchell house on Quansoo Farm.  
  • Mitzi Pratt, Derrill Bazzy and the Save the Gay Head Lighthouse Committee:  Seeking $51,854 as Chilmark’s share to help fund the relocation of the Gay Head Lighthouse.  
  • Susan Klein, Agricultural Society:  Seeking $3,016 as Chilmark’s share to help fund the restoration of several historic artifacts and documents.  
  • Martina Thornton, Dukes County Commissioners:  Seeking $5,847 as Chilmark’s share to help fund upgrading the electrical wiring to meet code specifications in the historic County Courthouse.  
  • Dan Waters, MV Museum:  Seeking $31,512 as Chilmark’s share to help fund the rehabilitation of the roof and chimneys of the Marine Hospital in Vineyard Haven.  There may be additional CPA fund requests submitted over the next few years.  
Affordable Housing Request

  • Philippe Jordi, Island Housing Trust:  Seeking $65,000 as Chilmark’s share among three Towns to help fund the acquisition and restoration of six affordable apartments they purchased in Vineyard Haven.

Open Space Preservation Fund Request

  • Board of Selectmen:  Possibly seeking $400,000 to fund a project that is in Executive Session and cannot be disclosed at this time.  
Mandatory FY 2015 Estimated CPA revenue and Reserve Fund Amounts.

-    To see if the Town will vote to approve the following request of the Community Preservation Committee:  To see if the Town will vote to reserve from the Community Preservation Fund FY 2014 estimated annual revenues up to the following amounts for community preservation projects:  $26,905.00 for Open Space Preservation Reserve; $26,905.00 for Historic Resources Reserve; $26,905.00 for Housing Reserve; and $188,350.00 for the Community Preservation Budgeted Reserve.  

  • Review current CPA reserve fund balances.
  • Discuss and vote on which proposals to recommend to Town voters at the April 2014 Annual Town Meeting.
  • Review draft FY 2015 budget.
  • Other old or new business.
