Chichester Road Advisory Committee
DRAFT Minutes of September 11, 2017
Attending: Allen Mayville Jr., Guy Goodwin, Doug Hall, Brian Eldredge, Tom Jameson, Jim Plunkett
Chair Allen Mayville opened the meeting at 6:40 pm.
Members reviewed the minutes of the August meeting. A motion was then made, seconded and voted unanimously to approve the minutes of August 14.
Jim prepares cost estimates for road reconstruction projects on a spreadsheet that was created by the CIP committee some years ago. Jim described the spreadsheet and how it does calculations based on entries he makes. After the discussion it was decided there was no reason to revise or alter the spreadsheet.
Doug presented the inventory of road segments and pointed out that two of the four segments of King Road were listed as “Preventive-10” and the other two were listed as “Rehabilitate-10.” Jim indicated that was correct. Discussion did not lead to any change in the recommendation that King Road be done in its entirety in 2018.
Jim stated he has taken photos of the current projects on Bear Hill Road and Pleasant Street. He will provide them to Doug for the 2017 report.
Jim updated the inventory list of recent work.
Jim reported that he is preparing the bid request documents for King Road. The deadline for receipt of bids will be in mid-November, so the results will be available for inclusion in the 2017 report.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2, at 6:30pm at the Town Highway Office.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 pm.
