Meeting Minutes
February 6th, 2012
At the Chichester Highway Garage
Present: Doug Hall (Chairman), Jim Plunkett (Road Agent), Stan Brehm, John Amsden, Richard DeBold(Selectman), Tom Jameson, Terry McCormack
Absent: Allen Mayville, Dave Dobson
Chairman Hall opened the meeting at 6:30 PM.
Motion to approve draft minutes from January 9th RAC meeting by Mr. DeBold
and seconded by Mr. Brehm. Motion carried.
Jim Plunkett outlined the culvert, underdrain, crack sealing and shim/overlay work planned for 2012.
Discussion: as to the approach the committee wanted to take during the Town meeting.
Decision: print 50 copies of RAC report and be prepared to discuss/support RAC recommendations concerning warrants for road reconstruction/rehabilitation.
The committee reviewed the Road Surface Management System (RSMS) inventory of roads in regard to the existing segments and how the longer segments should be broken up.
Decision: Jim Plunkett will review and adjust segments longer that ½ mile and report to committee at next meeting.
Discussion: regarding the process the RAC/road agent will use to review the condition of paved roads maintained by the town. It was felt that all the roads should be reviewed again so that committee members would be familiar with the process and could certify the figures prepared earlier.
Decision: The committee will review a training document provided by UNH at the next meeting at the Town Hall.
Next meeting dates (all at 6:30 P.M.):
Monday February 27 - at the Town Hall (note changed location)
Monday March 19 - at the Town Highway Garage
Monday April 9 - at the Town Highway Garage
Motion to adjourn by Mr. Brehm, seconded by Mr. Amsden. Motion carried at 8:30 P.M.
