SELECTMENS MINUTES
September 17, 2002

PRESENT:  Theodore Bailey, David Colbert, Richard DeBold, and Judy Kenneally via telephone

OLD BUSINESS:

The minutes of August 10, 2002 were approved as written, signed and will be posted to our web page.

NEW BUSINESS:

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM by Chairman Ted Bailey.

Subject:   Highway Department
HIGHLIGHTS:

Present:  Jeffrey Jordan, Road Agent

Mr. Jordan gave the Highway Maintenance Plan to the Board.

Discussed the Highway Departments yard and the clean up still needed.

Discussed the goals for the road maintenance and ideas for the upkeep and the future maintenance of all roads.

Subject:   Police Department
HIGHLIGHTS:

Present: Chief Patrick Clarke

Chief Clarke told the Board that Officer Lafrmaboise was in an accident and will not be working for a time.  Chief Clarke has someone in mind to fill in and will be bringing him in next meeting.

 
Subject:  Fire Department
HIGHLIGHTS:

Present: Chief John Prickett

Chief Prickett discussed the Heavy Rescue Truck and the different options for the purchase of a new one.

Subject: Mrs. Stevens
Highlights:

Mrs. Stevens knows the unknown lot off of Lane Road.  Mrs. Weeks owns it.  Mrs. Stevens would like to do a line change.  Judy stated that Mrs. Stevens would need deeds for the properties.


Subject: Kelly Corner Farm
Highlights:

Ms. Patterson and Mr. Benjamin came in to sign agreement for the maintenance of the town owned property.

Subject:  Board Discussion
HIGHLIGHTS:

Judy would like the Board to consider future office working arrangements beginning in March 2003.

Board discussed Arells request for building permit.  Request denied by Board without proper requirements of Building Inspector.

Board discussed Mr. Depalmas request for tax abatement or tax credit regarding the requirements of the fire department to install a sprinkler system.  The Board agreed to deny request based on legal council.

Board discussed Mrs. Dalbecs no show at the Planning Board meeting.  The Board will send a letter stating she cease and desist operation of her business on Dover Road.

A letter will be drafted to Mr. Nelson regarding the issue of someone living in the commercial building on Dover Road.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:30 PM.
