Selectmen’s Meeting
December 18, 2001

PRESENT:  Jeffrey Jordan, Theodore Bailey, Judy Kenneally, Heather Briggs

OLD BURSINESS:

The minutes of December 11, 2001 were approved, signed and posted to the web page.

NEW BUSIESS:

SUBJECT: Earl Weir
HIGHLIGHTS:

Discussed Hilliard Road.  The Board decided that a public hearing was not necessary and that Earl need not post a bond.   The Board signed the certification document accepting Hilliard Road up to and including the cul-de-sac locating on map 7 lot 4.  The Document will be certified by the Town Clerk and filed at the Merrimack County Registry of Deeds.

SUBJECT:  PUBLIC HEARING – Connemara Drive
HIGHLIGHTS:

PRESENT:  Bill Rollins from Vollmer Assoc., Road Agent Asst. A J May, resident, Jeffrey Pullen

The Public Hearing was scheduled to discuss the acceptance of Connemara Drive as a Town maintained road. Mr. Rollins stated that the last few items on the ‘to do’ list were completed to his satisfaction.  Any problems that may come up will be covered under the cash bond.  

Judy will contact Mr. Mullaney to ask if he wishes to post a different type of bond.

SUBJECT: Bid opening
HIGHLIGHTS:

1954 Dodge Power Wagon  Paul Sanborn -               $536.
Ferenc Naugi -              $ 875.
Michael Starge Jr. -       $ 930.
Walter Sanborn -           $527.60
Venessa Burnes -         $1,200.  (withdrawn 12/17/01)
Mike Wolfe -                $1,025.

Michael Wolfe being the high bidder will be contacted.

SUBJECT: Gloria Andrews, Chichester School Students
Highlights:

PRESENT: Gloria Andrews, Sam Schrieir, David Andrews, Alicia Poirer, Jess Palmer

The students would like to do a roadside cleanup project to raise money for  their 8th-grade class trip.  The students asked if the request could be included as a line item in the budget. The Board preferred they go through the process of submitting a petitioned warrant article as an exercise in town government procedure.  The students accepted the Board’s decision and will submit a petition.

SUBJECT: Board discussion
HIGHLIGHTS:
The perambulation between Pembroke and Chichester was completed on 12/15/01.  Selectman Bailey will submit the updated documentation.

The proprietors of Teacher’s Barn were contacted and they are proceeding to the Planning Board.

The board will meet 12/31/01 at 1:00 PM.
David Kilian of Boy Scout Troop 80 requested a letter of appreciation for  Eagle Scout Evan McIntosh for constructing a building at Webster Park in Epsom.  The Board questioned whether or not the letter should come from the Epsom Board of Selectmen.  Judy will inquire.

Appeal:  Moses/McCallister appeal will be forwarded to the assessor.

CIP:  A new Town office facility will be added to the plan.

The health insurance policy was revised to read;  The Town will offer to pay 80% of a single, 2-person or family policy for employees working 25 hours or more beginning January 1, 2002.

This policy was established to keep Chichester competitive with area Towns.
