SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
11/27/2001

Present:  Jeffrey Jordan, Theodore Bailey, Dennis Call, Judy Kenneally, Heather Briggs

OLD BUSINESS:

The minutes of 11/20/2001 will be revised and signed 12/04/2001.

NEW BUSINESS:

SUBJECT:  Earl Weir
HIGHLIGHTS:

Present:  A J May

Mr. Weir has graveled Hilliard Road and is asking the Board to accept it as a Town maintained road.   The road will be accepted when the improvements are satisfactory.

SUBJECT:  Police Cpl. Patrick Clarke
HIGHLIGHTS:

The Board signed the employment agreement for Cpl. Clarke as Chief.

SUBJECT:  Road Agent assistant, A J May
HIGHLIGHTS:

The highway department purchased plows from surplus.

Discussed the 2002 budget proposal.  The Board suggested waiting to hire a full-time employee.   

A J would like to increase the capital reserve request for bridges and roads.  The Board asked A J to check the balance of the funds and determine the needs to see what the increase should be.

SUBJECT:  Library
HIGHLIGHTS:

Present:  Peggy Haskett, Spook Arey

Discussed the 2002 budget proposal.

SUBJECT:  Recreation, Richard Debold
HIGHLIGHTS:

Mr. Debold presented the plan for the sign to be erected at the park.

Discussed 2002 budget request.

SUBJECT:  Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Evelyn Pike
HIGHLIGHTS:

Discussed the 2002 budget proposal.  The Board explained that the Town will no longer offer compensation for employees who have health insurance other than what the Town offers.

Evelyn is requesting a computerized Town Clerk’s package in the 2002 request.

She is also requesting to have one of the Town’s record books preserved.

SUBJECT:  Board discussion
HIGHLIGHTS:

Selectman Call fixed the problems at the community building.

Selectman Call moved the M37 to the highway shed.  Judy will advertise the vehicle for sale by sealed bid in The Suncook Sun.

Judy will revise the policy for health insurance.

The Board determined that Robinson’s junk yard was established before zoning and therefore is grandfathered  Judy will respond to the letter of complaint.

Paul Adams submitted a copy of the Elderly housing proposal, the CIP, Impact fees and the growth ordinance.
