Chichester Conservation Commission Meeting
Draft of the Minutes of the Study Session, March 30, 2017
Grange Hall, Selectmen’s Office
Present: Members: Bob Mann, Jim Eggers, Zack Boyajian, Frank Harrison andMarianne DiTaranto. Guests: Kim Gillis
The meeting began as members of thecommission introduced themselves to Kim Gillis who was attending the meeting tolearn about the projects the CCC was actively working on.
Bob Mann asked for any issues that neededto be addressed before beginning the study session on the categorizing andreporting of conservation land on the town website.
Marianne DiTaranto asked for considerationof a proposed date for the Trail Maintenance Workshop, a joint venture betweenthe UNH Stewardship Network and the CCC to be held in Chichester. The tentativedate selected by the CCC and approved by the Network is July 29, 2017. TheNetwork would like the workshop to start at 9:00 a.m.
Frank Harrison began the study session byupdating those present on his work. Frank has been entering all conservationland onto an interactive google style map and updating what is and is notallowed at each site.
Some suggestions were to: Make a list andadd it to the website. Group or categorize land by uses and restrictions.Anything the town owns and the allowable uses should be listed. Easement deedswill need to be reviewed to assure correct disclosure of restrictions and uses.
The intent is to have a live active mapwhich could list a 5 year management plan and include protection, public accessand utilization as defined by the individual easements.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The next meeting will be held in theSelectmen’s Office of the Grange Hall on April 13, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. ThePublic is invited.
