Present:  Jeff Andrews, Gordon Jones, Mike Marchand and Lee-Ann Valotto

General Items
Minutes from last month were unanimously approved.

NH Association of Conservation Commissions 35th annual meeting is Saturday, November 5 from 8:00 to 3:30.  Funds are available for participation.

Jeff completed the Conservation Easement monitoring forms and will deliver them.  He will pick up a free copy of the Conservation Easement Stewardship guide.

CCC Goals Status Review:

1) Land Protection Subcommittee
Nothing new to report.

2) Source Water Protection Education Efforts/Web Site
Lee-Ann will have draft article on drinking water protection for review next meeting.

3) Designating Prime Wetlands
VHB has almost completed the field work.  The contract has been signed and a new bill has been received.

4) Warrant articles
The RFP for the survey of Carpenter Park has a November deadline for the receipt of quotes.  Blazing and painting the property lines on the conservation easements was included in the RFP.

The work needs to begin on the warrant article for approval of the survey of Carpenter Park.

5) Blaze Paint Property Bounds on Conservation Easements
Included in Carpenter Park RFP.

6) Water Quality Monitoring of Marsh Pond
The Selectmen held a public hearing regarding the dam on Marsh Pond.  They are leaning towards removal of the dam.

Motion
Although the CCC is opposed to the removal of the dam on Marsh Pond, if approached by the Selectmen to get access to the dam to remove it, the commission would like a forester and a wildlife biologist to select the path to the dam and do a selective cut at the same time on the 21 acre easement per the Sanborn-Cray management plan.  Any proceeds from the timber cut will go to the Conservation fund.
Motion passed 4-0.

7) Implementing the Sanborn Cray Conservation Area management plan.
The contract with Richard D. Bartlett & Associates for survey of the Plummer property is underway.
Jeff and Mike will mark a path with the least impact to the high and dry area Tuesday, October 11.
Other
Jeff spoke with Mrs. Ferman.  The pond is being dug now and will be part of the easement.  Once it is surveyed we can begin work on the easement.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
