Public Outreach:  No new business

Land Conservation:  Conservation Fund: This fund is built primarily from the annual addition of funds from Land Use Change Tax and the Fund is the only means for saving money to fund and/or manage conservation projects to protect the rural character of Chichester.  Sample conservation projects may include acquisition of highly valued conservation land, conversion of appropriate town-owned conservation lands into permanent conservation easements, and responsible management of existing conservation land.

Shaw Pasture: DOT and Wetlands Bureau consultation and conversation has informed the committee on issues regarding access to the Shaw Pasture.  Current thinking is moving in the direction of developing the existing snowmobile crossing entrance into an access point and entrance to a four-car parking lot designed to limit impact on the wetland.

Spaulding Town Forest: No new business

Madeline Sanborn Conservation Area:  A volunteer group has refreshed the Blueberry Path that meanders for ¼ mile along the north shore of Marsh Pond.  Another volunteer group swabbed bull frogs and green frogs to support an SNHU research study for the presence of chytrid fungus, a growing threat to amphibian populations.

Carpenter Park:  Old Home Days celebration August 17 (Fri) + 18 (Sat), 2018.  FUN for the entire family!  Participate in the 5K Family Fun Run to support fundraising for new playground.

Other Business: Members encouraged to consider goal-setting to organize and prioritize various initiatives.
