Members Present:  Jim Eggers, Bob Mann, Marianne DiTaranto, Frank Harrison, Zack Boyajian, Blaze Konefal, and Dawn Marshall             Distinguished Guests: Gail Britton-Kojigian and Charles Kojigian

Minutes of the meeting of 3/8/18 were approved unanimously.             Call to Order: 7:10 pm

Mailbag

•     Full Moon Mindfulness Walk on April 27 (6-8 pm) sponsored by the 5 Rivers Conservation Trust at Carter Hill Orchards.  10 Dollars.  Register at 5rtc.org>Events.
•     Thank You letter from 5 Rivers C.T. for our contribution of $6300 – funds backing our commitment to easement stewardship related to the Spaulding Forest.
•     Tax Map 4-151 Timber Cut Notice from DES.

Agenda

Shaw Pasture: Annual Town Meeting Report: The Shaw Pasture has been approved by the town to be designated as a Town Forest.  The town also approved to expend up to $5,000 for the development of access to the property.  $700 has also been approved for mowing of the field.  The team discussed the possibility of managing the open field with local sheep.  No action has been decided and more discussion of field management will be ensue.  The NH-DOT may spray the Japanese knotweed with Round-Up (glyphosate), which generated much discussion with no outcome.  Bob Mann is organizing a work day on the property for April 28, 2018.

Spaulding Town Forest:   Marked boundaries must be blazed!  Five Rivers C.T. has proposed a Nature Walk on the property with emphasis on nature journaling, actual date to be confirmed.

Madeline Sanborn Conservation Area:  no new business

Carpenter Park:  Fundraising options coming soon!

Easement Stewardship: no new business

Other Business:  The issue of the Shirley Waters Estate “unsold lot” came up at a recent Selectmen’s meeting.  

Motion made (and approved) to accept the “unsold lot” of the Shirley Waters Estate as a donation to the Town of Chichester if offered by the Executor of the Shirley Waters Estate.
Vote Results: 5 Yes, 1 No, 1 Abstain

Motion made (and approved) that in the event the “unsold lot” of the Shirley Water Estate is not offered as a donation to the town as conservation land, the CCC will offer [undisclosed purchase price] for the lot.
Vote Results:  4 Yes, 2 No, 1 Abstain

Meeting adjourned at 9:20 pm.   Next Monthly Meeting: Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 7 pm, public invited!
