Minutes of Meeting March 8, 2018
Grange Hall, Selectmen’s Office

Present:  Dawn Marshall, Jim Eggers, Bob Mann, Marianne DiTaranto, Frank Harrison, Zack Boyajian
Guests: Gail Britton-Kojigian and Charles Kojigian,
Call to Order: 7:05 pm

Mary Castelli and Lucille Noel came to the meeting tonight representing the Town Library.  They informed the committee that Laura Tobin (probate attorney for the Shirley Waters Estate) reported the potential option of auctioning off the remaining lot on Dover Road or donating the lot to the Town of Chichester.  No consensus was reached as to the value of the lot to the town.

Minutes of the meeting of 2/8/18 were approved unanimously

Mailbag

•     Saving Special Places 2018: $60 Registration for the April 7th meeting of UNH Cooperative Extension
•     Fish and Game $300 grant has been approved for the mowing maintenance of the Shaw Pasture.
•     Chichester Heritage Commission: Public is invited to March 15, 2018 (7 pm) meeting at Town Library to hear from the Nh Preservation Alliance to better understand locally designated historic districts.
•     NH Wetland Mitigation Grant Program - Aquatic Resource Mitigation Fund

Shaw Pasture: A proposed design for an access road for the Shaw Pasture has been presented to the committee by an engineer.  This proposed design will serve as a basis for conversations with NHDOT and NHDES to finalize access and wetland delineation.  Stay tuned to work days on the Shaw Pasture.

Spaulding Town Forest:   The Easement Deed is now official!  Committee members are investigating the properties that bound the Spaulding Lot and if any of these adjacent lots are valuable conservation acquisitions.  Five Rivers CT has proposed a Nature Walk on the property with emphasis on nature journaling (11/4/18).

Madeline Sanborn Conservation Area:  no new business

Carpenter Park:  The Parks and Rec team is anticipating a CYA Field Clean Up for Spring.  Planning is happening to acquire a new playground.

Easement Stewardship: no new business

Other Business:  NHDES may revise the wetland permit process in a way that may impact Conservation Commission involvement.
