Cemetery Trustees
April 7, 2010
Present: Robyn Stephens, Ruth Hammen, Fred Shaw, Scott Marston (Cemetery Maintenance)
Cemetery Maintenance Agreement: Robyn presented to the Trustees and Scott Marston a revised copy of the maintenance agreement for review. The Trustees approved the contract with a few minor detail changes. Scott signed the agreement and presented a certificate of liability effective May 1, 2010.
Citizen Complaint: A citizen has informed Ruth that an artificial Christmas tree is missing from a grave in Leavitt Cemetery. Robyn has located the tree in a swamp possibly blown away in the recent storm. She informed Scott that he should retrieve the tree when he starts work and return it to the owner.
Fencing: Leavitt has suffered a great deal of fencing damage this winter and needs to be assessed for repair. Scott suggested that we wait until he has been to all cemeteries and will give the Trustees a report for all at the June meeting.
Bylaws: The Trustees are charged with reviewing the bylaws, which will be discussed at the June meeting.
Memorial Day – Veteran Flags: Ruth will contact Bob Shaw to see if the cub scouts will be placing flags at the graves of veterans this year. She will also get the list of veterans buried in cemeteries from Bob for filing with the Trustees
Public Notice: Ruth suggested that a notice be placed in the Suncook Sun through Hannah West notifying towns people that they should remove fall/winter arrangements and personal effects prior to spring cleanup, which will begin May 1 if they want to keep them.
