1. Briefing by Local Government Insurance Trust Attorneys *
Decision Required: Whether to introduce.
The Mayor and Town Council have been working on legislation regarding becoming a Sanctuary Town. The Town Attorney will be in to provide legal advice and therefore this portion of the meeting will be a closed under Maryland State Law.
2. Discussion – Sanctuary/Trust Town Designation
Decision Required: Whether to introduce.
The Mayor and Town Council have been working on legislation regarding becoming a Sanctuary Town. The Town Attorney may be in to providing legal advice and therefore a portion of the meeting may be a closed under Maryland State Law.
3. Briefing – Cheverly Terrace Shopping Center
Decision Required: None.
The owner of the Shopping Center will be briefing the Mayor and Council regarding plans for the center.
4. Grant Request – Cheverly Community Market
Decision Required: Whether to award.
The Mayor and Town Council will consider the grant request from the Market.
5. Discussion –Traffic Information – 2800 Block of Crest Avenue
Decision Required: None.
The received a speed hump petition. The Town Clerk verified the required signatures and the Director of Public Works collected data regarding traffic and speed on the 2800 Block of Crest Avenue. Attached is the memorandum regarding the results. The Mayor and Council will have to decide on whether to schedule for a public hearing at the October Town Meeting.
6. Position Description
Decision Required: Definition of job and duties.
The Mayor have discussed this matter in the last few Worksessions and continue to refine the position and process.
7. Bus Stop Trash Receptacles
Decision Required: Whether to purchase and install.
The Town Staff have been asked to provide more detailed information and costs for an installation on Cheverly Avenue.
8. Proposed Email System
Decision Required: Whether to purchase and install.
The Town Staff have been asked to look at a new email system. Attached is Mr. Harvey’s memorandum regarding this matter.
9. Department Head Evaluations *
Decision Required: Various.
