9. PROPOSED COUNTY ZONING AMENDMENT – ELECTRONIC RECYCLING
Decision Required: Whether to move to support.
The Mayor and Council have been working with a potential tenant in the Cheverly Industrial Park in his efforts to establish an electronic recycling facility. Since the County Code does not list electronic recycling as a use, the lack of such listing precludes the use. The proposed amendment to the County Zoning Code would specifically list electronic recycling as a permitted use in the I-1 (light industrial) zone. The Town is being asked to support this legislation.
10. ADOPTION CAR-3-12 AMENDING THE REFERENDUM SECTION
Decision Required: Whether to move to adopt.
This Charter Amendment will require 20% voter signatures, up from 10%, in order to effectively bring legislation to referendum.
11. DISCUSION- WSSC CONSTRUCTION
Decision Required: None.
The Mayor has added this item to the agenda and will address.
12. APPROVAL MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT – MUNICIPAL POLICE AGENCIES
Decision Required: Whether to move to approve.
The Mayor and Council have approved such an agreement in the past with the County and they are being asked to join an existing agreement between: Hyattsville, Mt. Rainier, Bladensburg, Riverdale Park, Greenbelt, Laurel, University Park and Edmonston
13. INTRODUCTION O-4-12 REPEALING AND ENACTING THE ETHICS SECTION
Decision Required: Whether to move to second reading.
This ordinance repeals and reenacts the Town's Ethics Ordinance in order to comply with the new State of Maryland regulations.
