Selectman Harmon reported that there have been meetings this week and there will be meetings next week to negotiate the police union contract.  She was here briefly for the meeting with the auditor last week and has been gearing up for Town Meeting.

Selectman Emery was not able to get in much last week but spent time in the evenings going over material for Town Meeting.  On Monday night he attended a Twelve Town Group Meeting in Waterboro.  He talked about some of the issues they discussed including a lengthy discussion that they had about what other towns are doing with cemeteries where the people who have taken care of them in the past are now getting older and want the town to take them over.

Selectman Emery was here all day Tuesday for the vote and he thanked everyone who came out to vote.

Selectman Booker reported that she went over to look at the playground at Town Farm Park and she said it is really nice.  She went on to thank Mike Robinson and Diane Longley for coming in on short notice to put artifacts from Pleasant Point Park in the cases we have in the front lobby so it would be ready before voting day.  She said that is not all of the artifacts but they did get a lot of them in there.  Selectman Booker said she has been reviewing contracts and going to the same meetings the others talked about attending.

Selectman Senechal also attended the meetings.  She said she talked with some people who came in to ask questions when they came to vote and said she passed a couple of things along to our Tax Collector to find the answers.

Mr. Burns thanked Selectman Senechal for the three years she served as Selectman.  He said her service to the town is very much appreciated.

Mr. Burns talked a little about a meeting with the SAD 6 Budget Advisory Group that he was leaving to attend and he spoke briefly about the school budget that passed.  He thanked people for supporting the two step process and said it is very important for people to not lose their right to vote.

This is Selectman Senechal’s last official meeting as Chair of the Board.  She thanked the Board for their support as Chair this past year and Bev Gammon, Selectmen’s Assistant for her help.

Chief Grovo reported that there were 340 calls that came in last week.  He provided statistics on those calls which included several fireworks complaints.  Chief Grovo said before the end of June he will bring in samples of the type of fireworks that are legal and those that are not allowed so people can see what they look like and ask questions.

Chief Grovo said the Public Works crew did an awesome job setting up the new playground at Town Farm Park, and he thanked Tashia Pinkham for getting the grant so we can have that.

Chief Grovo talked about hot, rainy weather and the fact that there are a lot of motorcycles on the road.  He asked everyone to use caution and be aware of their surroundings when driving, especially at intersections.  Come to a complete stop, look left and right, and make sure no one is coming before you proceed.
