  • Review of Projects and Issues
Tax bills went out last week.  Selectman Libby talked about the change in computer software programs from MUNIS to TRIO and asked people to please bear with us.

Selectman Harmon added that some glitches occurred when we converted from our prior software to TRIO.  She said we are working through the issues and making corrections as people come in.  She has been in the office checking mail and dealing with day to day issues.

Selectman Emery has been calling in every day keeping up with what is going on, talking about tax issues, and other issues that come up.

Selectman Senechal said there has been a lot of correspondence.  She reported that the Board finished up with resumes and they hope to make a final decision this week on the Treasurer position, and she told about new shelving that was installed today in the vault to hold the Town’s big, old record books.

Selectmen Burns said he and Cliff Emery attended the Twelve Town Group Meeting Monday night.  Yesterday he went to the EMA Emergency Declaration meeting in Alfred with the Public Works Director and EMA Director.  He met yesterday with the representative from Senator Snowe’s office and said it was good that he and several other people had the chance to share with her what is on their minds.

  • Old Business
Selectman Harmon drafted a letter to Department Heads in regards to looking over last year’s budgets to see if there were any carry forward amounts.

Selectman Burns also mentioned the draft to employees regarding mandatory training on October 5th.

  • New Business
Selectman Emery talked about the relocation of the Buxton Food Cupboard.  The gentlemen at Plummer’s complex are going to be refurbishing that area to make office space. They are going to help the Food Cupboard move into the old video store and when they are done they are going to allow them to move back into the old bank building.  They are investing money to make it easier for people to lease this area.  He said the Board needs to start thinking about what they want to do with the Food Cupboard in the future.  Although it is not critical at this time, the need to move could come about very quickly.
