Minutes for November 17, 2010 Selectmen’s Meeting

Public Hearing Liquor License Renewal

The Roost, DBA Personal Touch Catering.

Chairman Harmon read the Notice of Public Hearing on the renewal Liquor License Application for Kevin & Sundae Fallon, The Roost Inc., doing business as Personal Touch Catering and opened the Meeting to the public for comments at 7:00 p.m.

There were no comments and the Meeting closed at 7:01 p.m.

Selectmen Meeting Minutes November 10, 2010.
Approved 3-0-2.  Selectmen Robert C. Libby and Peter E. W. Burns were absent.



  • Discussion held between 5:00 & 7:00 p.m.
There was no one on the agenda.  The Board discussed briefly the Energy Audit results for the Fire Barn and proceeding with that.  Selectman Harmon said the estimate was around $1,700 for improvement changes.  Selectman Emery said the money for the changes will come from the building improvement fund.

  • Review of Projects and Issues
Selectman Senechal reported that she finished up our end of the Energy Efficiency, Pace Program that she has been working with.  The Board will not be doing anything with that until they hold a Special Town Meeting.

Selectman Senechal said she has been reviewing correspondence and assisting with interviews for police officers, reserves, and dispatch.

Selectman Emery said he followed up on the Board’s discussion last week about using the mechanic longer and he went down to Public Works to find out exactly what that person will be doing and how long they estimate it will take to get that work done.  They will keep him up to date on how the work is going until they get to the point where the work is finished up.

Selectman Harmon said she has not been in much this past week.  She has been doing her annual volunteering at different schools.  

Selectman Harmon reminded people that hunting is prohibited on Town property.  Several people have been spotted hunting near the Town Hall complex and down at Town Farm.  She said although it might look like a nice wooded area and a good place to hunt, it is prohibited on Town land.  Selectman Emery will check into whether or not it needs to be posted.

Selectman Harmon reminded everyone that the Town Hall office hours the week of Thanksgiving are Monday-Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  There will be no Selectmen’s Meeting on Wednesday, November 24th.  The Town Hall and Transfer Station will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 24th and 25th for the Thanksgiving holiday.  The Transfer Station will re open Saturday, November 27th.

Selectman Senechal gave information on the Buxton Toy Box.  The information is also posted on the Town web page.

Selectman Senechal congratulated Rob Hunt who was declared the winner in Legislative District 131.





  • Public Comments and Questions
Brenda Brown spoke on behalf of herself and the employees in the front office.  She expressed their admiration for John Myers, Town Clerk and talked about his honesty, enthusiasm, dedication and his integrity.
