Minutes for January 2, 2008 Selectmen’s Meeting

Others Present:  Dennis Santolucito, Peter Pinkham, Olive Collomy and David Harmon

Business Meeting Agenda

1.      Call to Order.

The Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.

2.      Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes.

Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes December 26, 2007.  Approved 5-0.


3.      Discussion held between 5:00 & 7:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – Anne Robishaw – Direct deposit
5:30 p.m. – May Schumacher, Peter Pinkham – Community Day


4.      Review of Correspondence.

·       Letter from Paul Schumacher, Executive Director Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission – Re:  Funding


5.      Review of Projects and Issues.

Selectman Harmon stated that due to the consecutive storms there has been an issue with mailboxes being hit by the snowplows.  Selectman Harmon reminded everyone that mailboxes are in the Town’s right of way.  Specifications for placement and height of mailboxes are available at the Code Office.

6.      Old Business.

None


7.      New Business.
        
Selectman Harmon reported that she consistently hears how much our residents like the new Hannaford.





8.      Executive Orders.

E.O.070801003 – An order to approve 48 hours of vacation time for Greg Heffernan.  Approved 5-0.



9.      Executive Orders by Initiative.

None




10.     Accounts Payable and Payroll Warrants.

E.O.070801001 -- An order approving expenditures as documented in Accounts Payable Warrant #26-08.  Approved 5-0.

11.     Next Meeting of the Board.

12.     Other Business.

The Selectmen reminded everyone that the Public Works Department has been working back to back storms and they are keeping the roads clear, sanded and salted.  If any one wants to question the road maintenance and they send an email, please sign the email in case the Selectmen want to call.  



13.     Public Comments and Questions.

Peter Pinkham asked the Selectmen the status of the Hanson School and the Old Town Garage.  He wanted to know if the Town was getting the Hanson School back.  If the school is coming back to the Town a Committee should be formed ahead of time so the Town does not incur any unexpected expense.  The same with the Old Town Garage, what will that building be used for once the new garage is complete.
