Agenda for June 13, 2007 Selectmen’s Meeting

Business Meeting Agenda

1.      Call to Order.

The Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.

2.      Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes.

Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes June 6, 2007  Approved 5-0.


3.      Discussion held between 5:00 & 7:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – Chief Graves – discussion items in process and to be done.


4.      Review of Correspondence.

·       Email from Geoff Herman, Maine Municipal Association – Re:  Details of the Tax Reform Legislation
·       Letter from Julie Martin, Walmart – Re:  $500 Community Grant to the Police Department from Walmart for education tools
·       Letter from Webber Energy Fuels – Re:  2007-2008 price protection program
·       3 Emails from York County Emergency Management – Re:  FEMA disaster assistance


5.      Review of Projects and Issues.

Selectman Harmon thanked every one who came out and voted.

Selectman Sanborn read the results of the election.  Selectman Sanborn congratulated Dan for his re-election and Linda Warren Pulsoni for winning the second Selectman position.

Selectman Harmon reminded every one that the Annual Town Meeting will take place on Saturday, June 16 at 9:00 a.m.

Selectman Harmon reported that the Planning Board had asked the Selectmen to re-establish the Comprehensive Plan Committee.  This item will be reviewed and the members will be asked if they want to be re-appointed.

Selectman Emery reported on the status of the Legislation that is in the legislative process regarding Sex Offenders.  There are several bills still in Committee.

7.      New Business.
        
There will be no curbside trash pick up on Wednesday, July 4th.  Wednesday pick-up day will be Friday, July 6.

Selectman Harmon reported that some of the audio issues may have been solved.  When a disk of the Meetings is played back at the SCTV station, it appears that there is a hard drive problem with the playback at the Station.



8.      Executive Orders.

E.O.060706008 – An order to approve 8 hours of vacation time for Greg Heffernan.  Approved
5-0.


9.      Executive Orders by Initiative.

E.O.060706009 – An order to approve the hire of Jeremy Roberts as a part-time employee at the Transfer Station effective June 14, 2007 at a pay rate of $11.54.  Approved 5-0.




10.     Accounts Payable and Payroll Warrants.

E.O.060706006 -- An order approving expenditures as documented in Accounts Payable Warrant #50-07.  Approved 5-0.

11.     Next Meeting of the Board.

Reminder school is out on Thursday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m.

Carol Sanborn thanked the Board and the public for the support she has received during her years in office as a Selectman.  She was publicly thanked for her service by fellow Selectmen Collomy, Harmon, Emery and Libby
