Minutes for May 23, 2007 Selectmen’s Meeting

Members Present:  Daniel T. Collomy, Carol B. Sanborn, Robert C. Libby and Clifford L. Emery.  Jean C. Harmon was absent.

Business Meeting Agenda

1.      Call to Order.

The Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.


2.      Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes.

Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes May 16, 2007.  Approved 4-0-1.


3.      Discussion held between 5:00 & 7:00 p.m.



4.      Review of Correspondence.

·       Letter from County Commissioners’ Court County of York – Re:  2007 York County Budget scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at York County Jail Community Room
·       Email from Leslie Lenentine – Re:  Boy Scout Troup 349 and Cub Scout Pack 349 will help clean up tree debris from the Patriot Day Storm.


5.      Review of Projects and Issues.

Selectman Emery reported that he will be attending the May 30 meeting regarding the York County Budget.

Selectman Collomy reported that the small generator house next to the Police Station has been removed.  The generator that was housed in the building is being worked on to see if it can be salvaged and used by any Town Department that may need it.



6.      Old Business.

Selectman Collomy read the Secret Ballot questions and announced there would be a Public Hearing on the questions next Wednesday, May 30 at 7:00 p.m.




7.      New Business.
        
The proposed new elementary school to be built at Buxton Center passed by a margin of 2-1.  The 1.3 million auditorium also passed.




8.      Executive Orders.

E.O.060705018 – An order to approve 14 hours of vacation time be “Carried Forward” for Chris Barstow.  Approved 4-0-1.

E.O.060705019 – An order to appoint Hiram R. Davis as the Election Warden for the State of Maine Special Referendum Election to be held June 12, 2007.  Approved 4-0-1.

E.O.060705020 – An order to appoint Joan Plummer, Sharleen Field and John L. Myers Deputy Wardens for the State of Maine Special Referendum Election to be held June 12, 2007.  Approved 4-0-1.


9.      Executive Orders by Initiative.

E.O.060705021 – An order to approve the mileage reimbursement rate to 48.5 cents from 40.5 cents per mile.  Approved 4-0-1.




10.     Accounts Payable and Payroll Warrants.

E.O.060705016 -- An order approving expenditures as documented in Accounts Payable Warrant #47-07.  Approved 4-0-1.

12.     Other Business.

Selectman Emery reported that the TruChoice Credit Union will be matching donations to replace the Concession Stand at Weymouth Park to a maximum of $1,000.  Donations can be dropped off at the TruChoice Credit Union.




13.     Public Comments and Questions.

Keith Emery questioned the $150,000 amount that will be on the Secret Ballot on June 12.  The Selectmen stated the amount is projected to be enough money to bring the building back to the standard that it had prior to the collapse of the ceiling and replace the roof.
