Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Juliette Lopez , Chair
Motion to accept minutes of December 8, 2014 - Regular Meeting
Motion made by Jeffrey Hilton/2nd by Gregory Devlin– motion passes
Correspondence
Commission received letter regarding dog park for the town of Burrillville. Aaron Coutu makes motion to
receive and file, 2nd by Greg Devlin – motion passes.

Old Business:
Recreation Program Information
Andrea Hall discussed the following items:
-Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program – next packing session scheduled for January 21st. An
information meeting is scheduled for January 15th with the Burrillville Coalition for Youth to discuss the
possibility of a partnership.
-Breakfast with Easter Bunny/Egg Hunt – preparations are underway for the 2015 event to be help on
March 28th.
-Facebook- Santa event pictures posted. Sponsors were recognized for their donations.
-Holiday Card Contest – 90 packs of cards were sold with profits used to purchase gifts for 3 needy
Callahan families.
-Nutrition Classes/Weight Loss Classes- 4 more people have signed up for the new 6 week session.
-Recycling/Energy Conservation Poster Contest- calendars made from the winners of the 2014 contest

are available at Parks and Recreation, the Jesse Smith Library, and Pascoag Utility District.
-Santa at Stillwater– Santa event was a great success. We had about 400 kids come to see Santa, and
each received a gift. Total attendance is estimated at 1200. The Burrillville Middle School Chorus sang
Christmas Carols. Leftover munchkins were brought to the police station. Cookie decorating with Mrs.
Claus had 310 participants, face painting 157. Cookie decorating made possible with donations from IGA
in Pascoag and Central St. Bakery. Recycled snowman contest had 15 entries.
-Santa Calling– A total of 63 children received a phone call from Santa.
-School Vacation Fun– Scheduled Multi-Sport minicamps for Christmas, February, and April Vacations.
Ceramics scheduled for February vacation. Christmas multisport had 10 participants.
-Sunshine Club– next meeting scheduled for January 26th. December meeting had 8 volunteers who
made 35 gifts.
