Meeting of the Burrillville Board of Canvassers to be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. in the Town Building, 105 Harrisville Main St., Harrisville, RI, for and within the Town of Burrillville.
Members Present: Blanche L. Boisvert , Marjorie M. Fenley, Anita Hurley-Diez, Leslie Bowen and Cecile Cormier
Members Absent:
1. Minutes: Motion to approve the minutes of the meeting held March 19, 2013 and dispense with the reading of said minutes.
New Business to be considered and acted on:
2. Correspondence from Robert B. Rapoza, Director of Elections, State Board of Elections, regarding the results of a survey of poll workers.
3. Poll Worker Training & Recruitment Task Force Summary of Recommendations.
4. Burrillville Canvassers’ staff report on the 2013 periodic updating of voter registration records (NCOA).
5. Review and discussion related to the election calendar and upcoming elections.
Legislation to be considered and acted on:
6. Review and discussion of election legislation enacted in 2013.
7. Consider and act on a Board of Canvassers’ request for legislation amending §17-8-1 Appointment of bipartisan authority.
Correspondence
8. Correspondence from the Board of Canvassers to the Town Council regarding legislation that would have required monitors at all polling locations.
9. Correspondence from Louise R. Phaneuf to the House Oversight Committee regarding their review of the 2012 election.
