Regular Meeting

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Briarcliff Manor, New York was held in the Village of Briarcliff Manor Village Hall, at 1111 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, New York of the 15th of September 2010 commencing at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Trustees Announcements by Mayor Vescio
- A fireworks display was held at Trump National and the Board was not aware the event was taking place. A permit was applied for and issued. The event occurred almost an hour late. Protocols will be installed to ensure this does not happen in the future. The Board appreciates Trump being good neighbors.
Village Managers Report by Village Manager Zegarelli
- The Full Supply Water Project is moving along well.
The Village received $200,000 in FEMA reimbursements for last winter’s storms. More is expected.
The Village Hall Roof Replacement Project is moving ahead quickly and is expected to be finished in 10 days.
- The Fire Inspection will be on October 23rd.
- School is open and residents are reminded to drive carefully.
- The Village is reviewing its safety protocols and has already held training seminars over the past year.
Mayor Vescio requested Supervisory Personnel receive 40 hour hazardous worker training and further requested the Police Department get confined space training.
Public Comments
Mr. Robert Little of Scarborough Circle stated he wanted to pay tribute to the planning that had gone into the parking facilities at Scarborough Station. He saluted the Mayor and the Board for the Valet Service. He asked about the barriers abutting the northbound tracks and a lighting concern. He asked the Board to consider repainting the Scarborough Post Office and consider the possible loss of the tenant.
Ms. Lisa Ritell stated the sidewalk in front of 1205 Pleasantville Road through 1312 Pleasantville Road was very difficult to traverse.
Mr. Dan Scavino of Trump National stated they held an event to raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and he deeply regretted any inconvenience the fireworks display may have caused.
Naming of Streets – The Club at Briarcliff Manor
Upon motion by Trustee Sullivan, seconded by Trustee Mayer, the Board voted unanimously to approve the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees does hereby approve that the Lower Village portion of the road in the Club at Briarcliff Manor shall be named Club Drive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees does hereby approve that the Upper Village portion of the road in the Club at Briarcliff Manor shall be named Lodge Drive.
Budget Transfer
Upon motion by Trustee Mayer, seconded by Deputy Mayor Venditti, the Board voted unanimously to approve the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees does hereby authorize the following budget transfer:
From: TE 8013 3% Inspection Fees $16,041.91
To: A3260.460 Safety Inspection $16,041.91
Board Appointment – Ethics Board
Upon motion by Deputy Mayor Venditti, seconded by Trustee Sullivan, the Board voted unanimously to approve the following resolution:
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Briarcliff Manor hereby makes the following appointment:
James Burns as Ethics Board Member for a term to expire on April 1, 2015.
Minutes
Upon motion by Trustee Sullivan, seconded by Trustee Mayer, the Board voted unanimously to approve the minutes of September 1, 2010 as amended.
Adjournment
The Board will hold a work session on 9/21 at 6:30pm to hear the preliminary report of the Scarborough Park Committee. All that are interested are encouraged to attend.
Upon motion by Trustee Mayer, seconded by Deputy Mayor Venditti, the Board voted unanimously to close the regular meeting at 8:10pm.
