A Work Session of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Briarcliff Manor, New York was held in the Village of Briarcliff Manor Village Hall, 1111 Pleasantville Road, Briarcliff Manor, New York on the 25th day of September, 2007 commencing at 5:45 p.m.

Report of Ad Hoc Holiday Display Committee

The Co-Chairs of the Ad Hoc Holiday Display Committee, Robert Siebert and Roberta Socolof, as well as the member who wrote the report of the Ad Hoc Committee, Joshua Parker, made a presentation of the recommendations of the committee to the Board of Trustees.  The Board and the committee members  discussed the recommendations and issues that were reviewed and evaluated by the Ad Hoc Committee.  The Board suggested some additions to the recommendations of the committee and the committee members concurred.  Based upon the discussions, the Board decided to act on the recommendations.

Upon motion by Trustee Smith and seconded by Trustee Waxenberg, the Board voted unanimously to adopt the following resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees does hereby accept the recommendations of the Ad Hoc Holiday Display Committee and does establish the Ad Hoc Holiday Display Committee’s “unanimous recommendations” set forth on pages 13 and 14 of its report as the display for the 2007-2008 holiday season with the following additions:

·       Visual decorations, such as balls, candy canes and other secular items, shall be placed on the Christmas tree
·       The banner shall be placed in the vicinity of the Christmas tree and the Chanukah dreidel
·       The Christmas tree and the Chanukah dreidel to be appropriately sized and located in the park to provide equal prominence to both the tree and the dreidel

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the recommendations of the Ad Hoc Holiday Display Committee shall be attached to the minutes containing this resolution.
