Commission Business
Unable to review & approve Meeting Minutes dated November 19, 2012; this matter postponed until next meeting.
The Commission received a letter from Walter Bickford, Berlin Conservation Commission, requesting a Boylston commission member to attend a meeting in January concerning land preservation around Wrack Meadow. Joe McGrath volunteered and will contact Mr. Bickford.
Newton Pond: Chip related that he had a conversation with Brad Stone, Conservation Agent for Shrewsbury, concerning Shrewsbury’s project to insert a 6” Weir on the dam to raise the water level in the pond. Work appears to be going forward.
The Commission discussed recent town road projects which are now complete, including the installation of a culvert as part of the re-paving of School Street. The Commission requested that Melanie check the files to determine if a Certificate of Compliance was required.
The Commission reviewed a memo from the Town Administrator, noting that approval would now be required for all purchases of $100. The Chairman was asked to contact the Town Administrator for clarification on whether or not expenditures from the revolving engineering fund were included.
The Commission reviewed the Annual Report.
Confirmed meeting date for January: 14 January, 2013, which is one week early due to Holiday.
Abbey Road: Jeff Walsh related that he had not been able to act on a request for information from the Planning Board about Abbey Road. It is probably too late in the winter to attend to this. He can still address this with the Planning Board if it is still an issue.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
