OTHER BUSINESS
Ken Gikas (Region 2 Consultant) – Mr. Gikas explained that he has been working with Dennis for the past 4-5 years putting together an EDS (Emergency Dispensing Site) plan for the town. He reminded Dennis that there is a CD available for the members to view. A drive-through facility has been added to the plan and eight AM transistors were recently purchased. Dennis said that once the new school is operational, he will speak with the superintendent about getting a designated place for storage of the supplies. Mr. Gikas will send an email to Sarah and Tina so they can register for the HHAN and take the ICS 100 & 700 courses. He also reminded the members that he will be conducting a call-down drill to (1) make sure the telephone numbers are correct, and (2) for response time.
GENERAL BUSINESS
Vouchers were approved.
Tina made a motion to approve the Meeting Minutes dated May 29, 2012; Sarah seconded; all agreed.
July 23rd was confirmed as the date for the next Board of Health meeting.
Sarah put the mosquito information on Facebook. She will email Parks & Recreation and both schools about spraying town owned fields. She will also email Timberbrook Condominiums to inform them of the program and let them know that it will be the association who will make the decision as to whether to spray or not.
AGENT’S REPORT
Mini Grant Update – Dennis spoke with Lisa at the Clinton Savings Bank. She gave him information for the marketing department. He will follow-up with them. Sarah purchased 177 mini samples of sunscreen with the grant money. Using Special Projects funds to match the $350 grant was discussed, along with using the funds to create a room on the lower level for storage of all emergency preparedness equipment.
