PUBLIC HEARING to consider issuing a Pig/Swine Permit to Aline & Robert Graves of 425 Linden Street – Aline & Brain Graves were in attendance, as well as abutting neighbors Jerry Shea and Brian Keane. Dennis Costello told them that the number of pigs they may have is limited and explained the requirements necessary to obtain a permit; specifically, they must be in an enclosed pen, kept clean, watered, and are subject to inspections. The Graves’ said their intent is to raise two pigs primarily for slaughter, but also to clear the land for one season only. They plan to plant grass in the future. The general layout was explained. They said they have an electronic fence and shelter. The neighbor concerns were potential odor, rodents and coyotes. Ms. Graves
stated that the food will be kept in the garage in a closed metal container. Lorie Martiska motioned to issue a permit pending research of the agricultural regulations; Sarah Scheinfein seconded; all agreed.
PUBLIC HEARING to consider issuing a Variance Request for John & Paula Peterson of 21 French Drive – Sarah Scheinfein recused herself from the matter. Steve Sears (David E. Ross Associates) was present as the representative. Town variances requested are for the proposed SAS to be 100’ off wetlands, and local upgrade approval. In addition, variances are requested from DEP. The existing system is currently working but did not pass Title 5. It will be located more or less in the same place. The Board agreed to the request and a letter will be written indicating approval.

Sarah Scheinfein motioned to approve the Meeting Minutes dated May 24, 2010; Lorie Martiska seconded; all agreed.
July 26, 2010 was confirmed as the date for the next BOH meeting.
AGENT’S REPORT
Detailed Inventory List for Region 2 Equipment – Dennis is continuing to work on it. He has organized items in the two Go Kits. He will put content labels on the duffle bags. New Go Kits will be issued which will contain items needed for large flu clinics.
Space for Public Health Equipment – Dennis spoke with the Police Department and Town Administrator. Tahanto has no room for storage. The Town Administrator said the storage area would have to be in the BOH office because of its size.
Public Water Supply Law Change – Scott McCubrey is continuing to work with his consulting engineer (Jay Billings, Northeast Geoscience). When the plan is complete, he will contact Dennis.

Sharps Collection Site Budget Item for 2011-2012 – The state has extended the ban on disposal of sharps in households to July 2, 2012. Collection centers are still in the implementation stages. Dennis spoke with Joe Flanagan about including a line item in the budget.
The state has begun a recovery program for the remaining vaccine. Labels will be sent to the towns.
Soil tests will be conducted on School Street Tuesday with Steve Sears in conjunction with the town’s tax title property.
A proposal was received from Lakeside Sewage to locate components on the Hillside property. It will take place within the next two weeks.
Several calls were received by the Police Department concerning rabid animals. Dennis was contacted by the Police Department looking for a call list. The prior list is outdated and needs to be revised. He was also contacted by the state and advised over the telephone that the animal (bat) from Central Street could not be tested because of the condition.
The MDPH reported a negative finding relating to the contents in the red balloon found last month on a school bus.
PLAN REVIEW
Lot 19, Lot 26B, Lot 27B Sewall Street (Signature Homes Communities) – Bedroom changes were made as requested and approved. The nitrogen loading plan is being reviewed by DEP.
