AGENT’S REPORT

Seasonal/H1N1 Flu Update – Dennis said that flu clinics are winding down. He would like to hold one more clinic at the Town Hall offering both the Seasonal and H1N1 vaccinations, utilizing only one nurse for an afternoon/evening.  It will be available to all residents and notification will be by postcard or a mailing.  Since holding the first clinic in November, approximately 700 immunizations were administered, with 515 of those being the H1N1.  The last clinic held in January was not as large as expected.  School participation averaged only 5%.    There is an abundant supply of vaccine left.  The VNA requested and was given 500 doses.

Beavers – The permitting process was discussed and the need for Fish & Wildlife to work with local Boards of Health to implement permits correctly and in a timely manner.  Currently the process can take up to eight weeks.

Food Permits – The need for “Limited Food Permits” and Common Victualer Licenses were discussed with concern to Dipilato’s, Vinny C’s, Anytime Fitness and Tower Hill.  Dennis said the Common Victualer Licenses are issued by the Board of Selectmen, but there is not a clear understanding of what it is.  The application does not state what it is for, therefore he did not know what the Board of Selectmen needed him to inspect.  The Board does not see any reason to change the permitting process by adding limited food permits to those businesses that have a license issued by the Board of Selectmen.

Budget – The budget was level funded as requested by the Town Administrator.  Dennis added a line item for educational training.

The Annual Report was reviewed.  It will be revised and submitted to Lori Esposito.

PLAN REVIEW

32 Nicholas Avenue (Edwin Young) – Revisions were made after the last meeting and the plan was approved.

Lorie motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m.; Matt seconded; all agreed.
