PLAN REVIEW

1001 Main Street (Nitsch Engineering) Tahanto Regional Middle/High School – Bill Maher (Nitsch Engineering) was present.  He said the majority of the fields are in the 200’ primary zone.  He has met with DCR and the design team.  The main objective is to remove the system from the primary zone.  The existing tank is 30,000 gallons.  They are proposing two tanks; a 20,000 gallon and a 10,000 gallon.  There will be a dedicated grease trap and gate valves will be included.  Two waivers are being requested:  (1) reduction in flow from 20 gallons per day per person to 15 gallons per day per person, and (2) reduction in the slope from 2% to 1%.  Dennis said these are DEP variances.  He doesn’t see any concerns with the slope request.  The Board needs to send their approval to DEP.  Lorie informed Mr. Maher that the Board does not grant variances for new construction.  Title 5 has specific regulations for schools that permit such variances per Title 5, Section 15.416 (Variances for Schools).  Mr. Maher obtained and presented water usage records from 2000 which shows a decrease over the years.  Mr. Maher said as-built plans and maintenance documentation will be received when the project is complete.  Dennis questioned the need for a Public Hearing per DEP application requirements.  He will contact DEP and, if needed, it will take place on November 22nd.

25 Poe Avenue (Eric Johnson) – Not reviewed tonight.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
