AGENT’S REPORT
Detailed Inventory List for Region 2 Equipment – Ongoing project.
Public Water Supply Law Change – No information has been received from Scott as of this meeting.
2010-2011 Flu Season – The vaccine has been ordered and we are allotted 300 doses. Dennis requested the VNA to order an additional 200 doses. The state is asking that the priority list from prior years be used concerning age distribution.
Hillside Drive-Thru EDS Site – The state wants towns to have a mile long corridor for use as a drive thru. Dennis, along with Ken Gikas (Region II Consultant) walked the property to consider a possible route. Dennis needs to speak with the Police Chief. Mr. Gikas is preparing a plan and will provide it when it is ready.
Tobacco – The Worcester Tobacco Coalition found Dipilato’s Service Station to be in violation for selling cigarettes to a minor. Dennis told Mr. Dipilato there is a $200 fine since this is the second offense. If there is a third violation, it could result in a loss of license. Signs to card everyone have been put up. Mr. Dipilato attended and stated that he has an issue with the vague description by the Coalition of the person who caused the violation. It was listed as “adult male”. He would like to see them use a book and ticket system with a note stating they will be hearing from the local Board of Health, or possibly leave a business card. Dennis explained that they receive a grant and do not have the power to do that. The Board feels Mr. Dipilato
has valid concerns and Dennis will bring them up to the Coalition. The $200 fine was paid tonight by check.
Soil tests will be conducted on Poe Avenue and Nicholas Avenue Tuesday with Steve Sears in conjunction with the town’s tax title property.
More information to follow next month concerning the location of septic components and perk tests on the Hillside property.
An anonymous call was received regarding ATVs and bikes riding over the landfill. The caller doesn’t want future well water ruined. Dennis said the 24” thick cap will be ruined by ATVs and would be costly to repair. He said he spoke with the Police Department a few years ago and was cautioned about putting up a chain or cable since that could result in decapitation. Dennis will speak with Don Parker and the Police Chief about possibly installing a swing type fence.
